Job Title: SEND Teaching Assistant
Job Type: Contract, Full-Time
Location: Kingston upon Thames, Greater London, England
Primary Industry: Education and Training
Salary: £450 - £480 Per week
Benefits: PAYE
Job Duties:
- Support students with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) in their learning activities, both in group settings and one-to-one
- Assist in the implementation of individual education plans for students with SEND
- Provide assistance with personal care needs as required
- Create a supportive and inclusive learning environment
- Collaborate with teachers and other professionals to ensure the best possible outcomes for students
Required Qualifications:
- GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Maths
- Experience working with children or individuals with SEND
- Understanding of safeguarding and child protection procedures
Education:
A relevant qualification in Education or Special Educational Needs is desirable
Experience:
Prior experience working in a school or educational setting with SEND students, or personal experience with SEND individuals
Knowledge and Skills:
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team
- Patience and empathy when working with students
Preferred Qualifications:
- Teaching Assistant qualification or equivalent
- First Aid certification
Working Conditions:
- Full-Time hours, Monday to Friday
- Work within a school environment
- Potential for additional training and development opportunities
