Job Summary

The Airport Manager is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the airport, ensuring that all activities run smoothly and efficiently. This role involves managing staff, coordinating with various stakeholders, and implementing policies to enhance safety and customer service.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage employee relations and disciplinary procedures in accordance with Company policies, terms and conditions of employment, with assistance of the Regional Operations Manager and HR representative as necessary
  • Ensure that the operation complies with all requirements specified in relevant legal agreements between the company, partners, and authorities (airport authority, landlords, licence providers, HSE, CAA, Environmental Protection Agency)
  • Prepare annual operating budget challenging existing costs and methods where appropriate to continuously improve cost effectiveness of operation without compromising operational standards or level of customer service
  • Regularly report to Regional Operations Manager / North Air Leadership Team on operations, implementing decisions taken by the Regional Airports Manager / North Air Management Team and contributing to strategic and operational plans for developing the business
  • Provide timely advice on expansion (or contraction) of the assets (tanks/vehicles) to continue to provide an efficient and secure fuelling operation in line with forecast demand and operational activity level
  • Assist Oil Companies and North Air Management Team in implementing business development plans including assessing and raising initial pricing models following any enquires from fuel suppliers or airlines on additional business
  • Continue to promote a safe environment for all employees in line with industry standards
  • Develop strong relationships with all potential customers at the airport to expand the business, ranging from airlines to other ramp service

Requirements:

  • Strong interpersonal and management skills
  • Strong leader and ability to motivate a team
  • Good understanding of budgets, cost control and pricing methods
  • Ability to communicate and engage effectively with a range of stakeholders
  • A wide knowledge of the industry
  • A very high level of commercial awareness
  • Safety Leadership
  • Experience in Management of Change

Desirable Experience:

  • Minimum of 5 years operational experience in a management or supervisory role in Distribution, Aviation or a related business
  • Airfield Experience
  • HGV Driving Experience
  • Refuelling Experience
