Senior Cost Manager - Defence Sector

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Cost Manager to lead our team in delivering exceptional cost management services to our defence sector clients.

As a Senior Cost Manager, you will be responsible for providing expert cost advice and guidance to our clients, ensuring accurate cost estimates, bills of quantities, and contract documents.

You will work closely with our team to prepare and manage project budgets, forecasts, and reports, ensuring timely and within-budget delivery of projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage large and complex projects, ensuring cost control and adherence to project timelines.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients, providing exceptional customer service and ensuring client satisfaction.
  • Collaborate with our multidisciplinary team to deliver high-quality cost management services, including cost planning, cost estimation, and cost control.
  • Conduct audits and reviews of construction and FM contracts, ensuring compliance with industry standards and best practices.
  • Develop and implement cost-saving initiatives, improving project efficiency and reducing costs.
  • Provide training and guidance to junior team members, ensuring they have the skills and knowledge required to deliver exceptional cost management services.

About You:

We are looking for a highly skilled and experienced Senior Cost Manager with a strong background in cost management, preferably in the defence sector.

Key Requirements:

  • Chartered Surveyor with post-chartered relevant experience.
  • Member of RICS.
  • Experience working in the defence sector is highly desirable.
  • Security cleared or qualified for SC.
  • Strong track record in a consultancy Quantity Surveying role, including cost management of building projects, feasibility/option studies, detailed cost planning, post-contract cost management.
  • Thorough understanding of the principal standard forms of Building Contracts, including JCT and NEC3.
  • Excellent client communication skills.
  • Excellent report writing and presentation skills.
