Interim Financial Planning & Analysis Lead

Location: London Hybrid

Contract: Short-term, Immediate Availability Required

Day Rate: £475 per day, outside IR35

Our client is committed to delivering excellence and innovation across their diverse operations and is in search of a proficient Interim Financial Planning & Analysis Lead.

Role Summary:

The Interim Financial Planning & Analysis Lead will be pivotal within the finance team, concentrating on financial strategy, analysis, and delivering strategic insights to bolster the company's growth ambitions. This position entails overseeing the FP&A function, crafting financial models, and working alongside senior management to enhance business performance and strategic initiatives during this interim phase.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Financial Strategy and Analysis: Spearhead the financial strategy and analysis function, encompassing the formulation of annual budgets, forecasts, and long-term financial strategies.
  2. Financial Modeling: Construct and sustain intricate financial models to facilitate decision-making and scenario analysis.
  3. Performance Reporting: Generate and present financial reports, including variance analysis, key performance indicators (KPIs), and dashboards to senior management.
  4. Strategic Planning: Collaborate with senior management to aid strategic planning and decision-making processes, offering financial insights and recommendations.
  5. Business Partnership: Engage closely with business units and department heads to deliver financial guidance and support operational decision-making.
  6. Process Enhancement: Identify avenues for improving financial processes and systems, boosting efficiency, accuracy, and transparency in financial reporting and analysis.
  7. Risk Assessment: Assess financial risks and opportunities, providing strategic insights to mitigate risks and leverage opportunities.
  8. Cross-Departmental Collaboration: Partner with other departments, such as accounting, operations, and sales, to ensure alignment and support business objectives.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Qualified accountant (CIMA, ACCA, ACA, or equivalent). CFA preferred.
  • Experience in private equity or a multi-site business environment is highly desirable.
  • Strong financial modeling and analytical skills with a proven track record in FP&A roles.
  • Proficiency in financial management software, ERP systems, and advanced Excel skills.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey complex financial information to non-financial stakeholders.
  • Strong problem-solving and strategic thinking abilities, with a proactive and detail-oriented approach.
