**Job Overview**

The Energy Division at Advanced Resource Managers Limited is currently recruiting an experienced Senior Mechanical Engineer to join a leading nuclear client based in the UK.

**Key Responsibilities**

  • Supporting the design activities from requirements capture, design development from concept through to detailed design, implementation and close out, to through-life support, decommissioning and disposal.
  • Ensuring compliance with site Licence Conditions, statutory legislation and design codes/standards, producing design guidance, substantiation and analyses, and delivering against agreed budgets/timescales.
  • Leading and working within a team of engineers, planning, and organising tasks and facilitating progress.
  • Designing and specifying Mechanical Building Services systems - heating, cooling, ventilation, controls, etc.

**Requirements**

  • Preferably Degree qualified, or equivalent qualification, in Building Services Engineering / Mechanical Engineering or related subjects.
  • At least NVQ Level 5 in an engineering discipline and preferably a registered professional status with an Institute.
  • Experience of working in a design consultancy and/or experience of working within a contractor design environment.
  • Detailed knowledge of appropriate regulations, legislation and technical standards that are applicable to mechanical services system design.
  • Understanding of mechanical engineering principles for the design, operation and maintenance of Steam & Condensate, Industrial Gases, Fresh Water, Demineralised Water, HVAC, Domestic Water services etc.
  • Knowledge of operating within nuclear or other high-hazard environments.
  • Familiarity with energy reduction methods and approaches to decarbonising new and existing buildings, including principles of building physics such as passive design solutions.
