Lead Engineer

We are seeking an experienced and self-driven Lead Engineer to join our team at Spire Hartswood Hospital. As a key member of our Engineering Department, you will be responsible for maintaining the equipment, grounds, building, team, and statutory compliance paperwork.
Key Responsibilities:- Lead a team of 5 engineers and ensure the effective maintenance of all engineering services and equipment.
- Develop and implement a cost-effective, planned, and preventative maintenance/repair programme for all engineering services/equipment.
- Drive the team towards achieving 100% statutory compliance audits.
- Manage external contractors providing specialist services to building services/plant and equipment.
- Ensure all services and equipment are maintained and repaired in accordance with current guidance and Spire Policy.
- Support in the accurate record keeping and easy retrieval filing of documentation for all services and equipment.
- Provide out-of-hours emergency on-call service and in-house day-to-day maintenance service.
- Identify personal training and development requirements and support the Essex Hub Engineering Manager in fire safety management.
- At least 3 years' experience in Electrical/Mechanical/DHW/Maintenance Engineering.
- Leadership experience within the Engineering/Maintenance industry is desirable but not essential.
- Hold relevant certificates and be willing to undertake specialist training in specific areas.
- Knowledge of building services is a must.
- Fault finding and resolution skills, ability to prioritise demands against resources, and assure hospital compliance with changing legislation.
- Highly literate and numerate, with excellent communication skills and IT literacy.
