Lead Engineer Opportunity at Spire Hartswood Hospital

We are seeking an experienced and self-driven Lead Engineer to join our team at Spire Hartswood Hospital. As a key member of our Engineering Department, you will be responsible for maintaining the equipment, grounds, and building, as well as ensuring statutory compliance.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead a team of 5 engineers in maintaining the hospital's equipment and facilities.
  • Develop and implement a cost-effective, planned, and preventative maintenance program.
  • Ensure 100% statutory compliance audits.
  • Manage external contractors and be the point of contact for specialist services.
  • Be the Authorized Person for Medical Gas Systems, Ventilation, Decontamination equipment, water, and electrical services provision.
  • Support in record keeping and documentation for audit purposes.
  • Order spares, services, and consumables for the Engineering & Estates department.
  • Provide out-of-hours emergency on-call service.
Requirements:
  • At least 3 years' experience in Electrical/Mechanical/DHW/Maintenance Engineering.
  • Leadership experience within the Engineering/Maintenance industry.
  • Relevant certificates and willingness to undertake specialist training.
  • Knowledge of building services and fault finding skills.
  • Ability to prioritize demands against resources.
  • Able to assure hospital compliance with changing legislation.
