Job Summary
This is an exciting opportunity to join the Leeds Teaching Hospitals award-winning Security team in a role as a security officer. The role is a challenging and rewarding position based at Merrion House, the flagship building of Leeds City Council. The role is a full-time contract with a predominantly Monday to Friday schedule, with occasional Saturdays.
Main Duties of the Job
The successful candidate will join a team of security professionals and will rotate during shift across multiple floors. Our primary role is to protect staff, visitors, and property. Attend fire calls and de-escalate difficult situations, disputes, and aggressive behavior. This is a physically and mentally demanding role, and officers are equipped with body armor that must be worn at all times, as well as body-worn cameras and a full uniform. A valid SIA door supervisor badge is required.

The Security team at Merrion House is a close-knit professional team of officers who trust and rely on each other's abilities at all times. They learn from each other, discuss all incidents that occur to establish if it could have been handled any differently, and what we can do to improve the service that we provide.
Job Responsibilities
The post holder is a member of the Security operational team and will be responsible for carrying out any duties commensurate with the grade of post. The role includes provision of security at Merrion House. The role requires flexibility in approach to the duties required as these may alter throughout the course of a work day/week. High standards of quality will be expected to be delivered in line with Security/LTHT practices and policies.
