About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Safety Assurance Specialist to join our SHEQ and Compliance Team at Connect It Utility Services Limited. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in ensuring the safety and well-being of our employees, customers, and the general public.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Conduct Safety Audits and Inspections: Monitor and carry out a programme of safety audits and inspections to identify potential hazards and non-conformances, and implement corrective actions to ensure a safe working environment.
  2. Investigate Incidents and Near Misses: Support the team in investigating accidents, incidents, near misses, and hazards, and implement measures to prevent recurrence.
  3. Advise on Safe Working Practices: Provide expert advice and guidance on safe working practices, and ensure that all employees understand and adhere to company policies and procedures.
  4. Escalate Safety Queries: Escalate safety queries and concerns to management, and ensure that all safety-related issues are addressed promptly and effectively.
  5. Monitor and Report Safety Performance: Monitor and report on safety performance, and identify areas for improvement and development.
  6. Develop Initiatives and Programmes: Develop initiatives and programmes to engage employees and promote a positive safety culture, and contribute to the development of company-wide safety policies and procedures.
  7. Stay Up-to-Date with Legislative Requirements: Maintain knowledge of legislative and certification requirements, and ensure that the company remains compliant with all relevant regulations.
Requirements
  1. NEBOSH Construction Certificate: Hold a current, in progress, or keen to achieve NEBOSH Construction Certificate.
  2. Full UK Driving Licence: Possess a full UK driving licence and be comfortable with travel.
  3. Auditing Qualification: Hold an auditing qualification, First Aid, and Mental Health First Aid (training can be provided).
