About the Role

We are seeking an experienced IT Software Asset Manager to join our Software Asset Management centre of excellence. As a key member of our team, you will play a pivotal role in a large multi-year transformation programme, supporting our organisation's move to a cloud-centric operation.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage and optimise our software assets, ensuring compliance and driving efficiency across the organisation.
  • Work closely with various departments, effectively communicating and negotiating with stakeholders to implement best practices.
  • Lead a team, share knowledge, and upskill/coach colleagues to ensure the success of the software asset management programme.
  • Interpret licensing terms and conditions in contracts, ensuring we are operating within licence grants and protecting the organisation.
  • Deal with large vendor audits, either directly with the vendor or through an audit consultancy.
Requirements
  • Strong leadership qualities, with experience in managing a team and implementing effective asset management strategies.
  • In-depth knowledge of software licensing models, particularly for large vendors such as IBM, Microsoft, and SAP.
  • Knowledge of legal matters pertaining to licensing, including copyrights, designs, and patents.
  • Experience of dealing with complex licence issues, both with new purchasing requirements and non-compliance issues.
  • Proven innovative approach to software asset management, with a focus on optimising software usage and reducing total cost of ownership.
