Job Title: Lead Design Analysis Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled Lead Design Analysis Engineer to join our Main Plant Engineering team at ScottishPower. As a key member of our team, you will play a crucial role in supporting the delivery of our transmission network projects across central and southern Scotland.

About the Role:

  • Prepare and review detailed engineering specifications and designs for electrical network equipment, ensuring compliance with current legislation and operational requirements.
  • Define Main Plant and auxiliary apparatus requirements for input to System Construction Authorisation (SCA), Project Technical Specifications, and BETTA documentation.
  • Provide technical support on matters concerning the design, construction, and operation of Main Plant, leading the technical resolution of site/construction substation electrical issues.
  • Assess engineering documentation from feasibility to detailed design, ensuring compliance with business requirements and supporting the preparation of accurate budgets for new projects.

What You'll Bring:

  • Degree in an Engineering discipline or HND with relevant experience.
  • Chartered Engineer Status (or working towards).
  • Strong problem-solving and communication skills, with the ability to form effective working relationships with stakeholders.
  • Experience in electrical infrastructure projects, with knowledge in one or more of the following areas: Switchgear, Transformers, Transmission, and/or Distribution system design.
