Woking, Surrey, United Kingdom Prison Advice and Care Trust Full time
Job Overview

This position offers a unique opportunity to engage in a vital project aimed at assisting women in maintaining their family connections during their time at HMP Send prison. The role focuses on providing support three months prior to release and at least two weeks post-release, facilitating their transition into community resources.

Role Responsibilities
As a Family Support Resettlement Specialist, you will be responsible for delivering a comprehensive service that ensures incarcerated individuals, their children, caregivers, and relatives receive appropriate advice, guidance, and support. Your efforts will help foster and strengthen positive familial relationships.

You will play a key role in developing referral pathways for families, inmates, and other professionals, collaborating with existing family service providers within the prison system. By co-designing personalized Relationship Care Plans with the women you support, you will address their family and relationship needs as they prepare for reintegration into society. This position combines case management with the delivery of programs and courses, alongside a signposting and advisory service for women in custody and their families.

Collaboration and Support
You will establish strong partnerships with Probation Practitioners to ensure timely referrals to additional family support services through Probation Women's Services prior to release, facilitating a smooth transition. Additionally, you will connect with various partner organizations in the community to address any further support needs after release, ensuring continuity of care.

Candidate Profile
To excel in this role, you should possess substantial experience and a deep understanding of working with families in complex, multi-agency settings, particularly with prisoners and their families. Your advocacy skills will be crucial in promoting the human rights of families affected by imprisonment, ensuring their needs are prioritized and their voices are heard.

Furthermore, you should demonstrate exceptional organizational and communication skills, with the ability to maintain composure in a prison environment. Acting as a representative of Pact, you will uphold high standards of professionalism, integrity, and accountability.

A vehicle may be advantageous for this position, although it is not a requirement.

Pact is committed to equal employment opportunities and encourages applications from diverse backgrounds, including individuals with prior convictions (subject to a risk assessment).

This role is subject to a probationary period, verification of identity, and proof of eligibility to work in the UK, along with satisfactory security vetting and references covering a minimum of three years.
