Job Title: Claims Handler Trainee

We are seeking a highly motivated and organized Claims Handler Trainee to join our team at Balens Specialist Insurance Brokers. As a Claims Handler Trainee, you will be responsible for providing administrative support to our Claims Department, working closely with our experienced Claims Handlers to develop your skills and knowledge.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Update calls and information on our administration system as directed by the Claims Handler.
  • Liaise with insurers as directed by the Claims Handler.
  • Set up new claims on the system.
  • Investigate claims and request relevant documentation.
  • Understand policy wordings and how a policy will respond to a claim.
  • Chase diary entries for documentation that is outstanding.
  • Allocate emails in the claims inbox to the correct handler.
  • Chase insurers for updates on payments and reserves.
  • Scan and photocopy as directed.
  • Liaise with DAS panel solicitors on current cases for updates.
  • Prepare basic claims reports in our administration system and Excel.
  • Liaise with colleagues regarding updates and data collection.
  • Transfer insurers' claims data to our administration system.
  • Answer telephone and assist clients with enquiries.
Requirements:
  • Customer Service Experience.
  • General Business Office Skills and Experience.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office and Microsoft Outlook.
