About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Finance Manager to join our team at NHS Education for Scotland. As a key member of our Finance Business Partnering team, you will play a critical role in supporting the delivery of our strategic objectives and contributing to the management of our £700m annual budget.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide financial management and budgeting support to various functions within the organisation
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to understand financial needs and develop proactive solutions
  • Lead conversations to understand financial requirements and develop plans to meet them
  • Research, collate, and analyse large data sets for reporting and decision-making purposes
  • Develop and maintain accurate and up-to-date financial documentation
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues to achieve shared goals and objectives
Requirements
  • CCAB or CIMA qualified (or recognised international equivalent)
  • Proven experience of budget management and forecasting in a large, complex environment
  • Clear understanding of finance business partnering and how to support directorates to achieve their goals
  • Ability to lead conversations, plan, and prioritise workload while maintaining accurate financial documentation
  • Ability to research, collate, and analyse large data sets for reporting and decision-making purposes
  • Highly effective communicator with the ability to make complex financial information simple for diverse stakeholders
  • Ability to work on own initiative, organise, and prioritise workload to meet strict deadlines
  • Line Management and coaching/mentoring experience

How to Apply

Our recruitment process for this post is currently remote, and interviews will be held online. If successful, you will initially work in our Edinburgh office for a number of days as part of your induction and learning. Once settled in the role, you will be able to work remotely or work from one of our NES offices (thereafter working in a hybrid capacity). Please note, occasional presence at our Glasgow/Edinburgh office(s) is a requirement for this role.
