Job Overview

This is a senior medical input and leadership role within the Acute Directorate, providing 10 PA per working week to Cherrywood ward, a 17-bedded, female-only, acute psychiatric unit.

The post holder will support the provision of psychiatric services to the area, with a focus on clinical management and care planning for patients on the unit. This will include:

  • Active involvement in daily clinical reviews, pre-discharge meetings, and Section 117 planning meetings.
  • Preparation of reports and attendance at Mental Health Act Tribunals as necessary.
  • Collaboration with the consultant and multidisciplinary team in the assessment, treatment, and management of psychiatric inpatients.

Main Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Providing senior medical input and leadership to Cherrywood ward.
  • Supporting the provision of psychiatric services to the area.
  • Collaborating with the consultant and multidisciplinary team in the assessment, treatment, and management of psychiatric inpatients.
