About the Role

The Director of Estates Operations will play a key role in driving improvements in the performance of the University's unique estate portfolio. This involves providing effective leadership and management of the Estates Operations team, overseeing property assets and space management, building and engineering maintenance, health and safety, energy and sustainability, and maintenance services, managing a revenue budget of £18m.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead on several strategic developments, including the Strategic Asset Management Plan, Decarbonisation Strategy, and Digital Campus.
  • Collaborate with teams across the Estate and Facilities portfolio, members of the wider University leadership and management team, and external partners.
  • Develop and implement effective strategies to enhance the operational efficiency and international reputation of the estate.
  • Provide inspirational leadership and management to the Estates Operations team, consisting of 112 staff.

Requirements

  • Senior leadership experience in estate management.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to think broadly and strategically, challenge convention, and work innovatively.
  • Experience of working collaboratively with teams and external partners.
