About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Academic Lecturer in Foundation Studies to join our team at Brockenhurst College. As a key member of our Foundation & Inclusive Learning team, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality teaching and learning experiences to our students.

Key Responsibilities
  • Teach on courses as agreed with the Head of Curriculum, ensuring that students receive a comprehensive and engaging learning experience.
  • Take on the responsibilities of a Foundation Personal tutor, providing pastoral support and guidance to learners with EHCPs.
  • Prepare and mark student work, monitor progress, and provide timely reports and feedback to students, parents, and College managers.
  • Work closely with colleagues to respond to the needs of students and contribute to the design, delivery, and future planning of the curriculum.
  • Prioritize the principles of inclusive learning, including individual learning styles, support for students with SEND, and extension resources for students of higher ability.
Requirements
  • Degree or equivalent professional qualification in a relevant subject area.
  • Appropriate teacher training qualification.
  • Record of continuous professional and career development.
  • Experience of high-quality teaching to 16-25-year-olds and adult students with SEND.
  • Experience of delivering effective pastoral support and individual learning plans.
  • Able to work collaboratively with colleagues to develop effective course content.
  • Knowledge and understanding of current developments in SEND.
  • Creative, supportive, and positive approach to teaching, learning, and assessment.
  • Flexible team player with the ability to meet deadlines and handle pressure.
