About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Family Support Worker to join our Liverpool team. As a key member of our team, you will provide emotional, social, and practical support to families who have a child or young person with a life-threatening or terminal illness.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver a high-quality family support service, working in partnership with health, education, and social care professionals.
  • Provide needs-led support to families, including emotional, social, and practical support.
  • Build supportive relationships with families, understanding their unique needs and circumstances.
  • Work collaboratively with the Family Support Manager and other team members to ensure the delivery of a high-quality service.
  • Develop and maintain a deep understanding of the impact of childhood illness on families, including the emotional, social, and practical challenges they face.
Requirements
  • Experience working in a child health, education, or social care environment.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with families and professionals.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, prioritizing tasks and managing multiple responsibilities.
  • Knowledge of child protection, information sharing, and data protection guidelines.
  • Practical experience of working with families who have a child or young person with a life-threatening or terminal illness.
