Position Overview:
As an integral member of the QSSHE team, the Environmental Specialist will play a crucial role in supporting our client's environmental initiatives.


This position involves providing expert environmental guidance for both onshore and offshore operations, ensuring compliance with regulations and promoting sustainable practices.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Serve as the Environmental Specialist for multiple operational platforms and subsea tiebacks.
  • Oversee the management of all relevant environmental permits and compliance documentation.
  • Provide technical expertise for environmental operations at terminals.
  • Develop a comprehensive Environmental Management Plan outlining key initiatives and milestones aligned with ISO14001 standards.
  • Contribute to the maintenance and improvement of ISO14001:2015 compliance.
  • Conduct scheduled audits and inspections to ensure adherence to environmental protocols.
  • Manage relationships with regulatory bodies.
  • Ensure timely submission of all required environmental reports.
  • Advise on compliance with environmental policies and legislation.
  • Monitor changes in environmental legislation and assess their impact on operations.
  • Conduct site visits and audits as necessary.
  • Maintain Operational Pollution Emergency Plans (OPEPs).
  • Participate as a member of the Incident Management Team (IMT).
  • Provide oversight of the environmental component of the Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) budget.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Environmental Management, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Extensive experience in the environmental sector within the offshore oil and gas industry.
  • Broad knowledge of offshore production, subsea operations, and drilling activities.
  • Strong understanding of the UK environmental regulatory framework.
  • Proficient in emissions management and trading schemes.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • ISO14001 auditor certification.
  • Familiarity with relevant environmental management systems.
  • Knowledge of sustainability reporting standards.
  • Relevant safety training certifications.
