Our client is seeking an Environmental Advisor to join their QSSHE team on a contract basis.

Role Overview:
This position plays a crucial role in delivering proactive environmental support to both onshore and offshore assets. The Environmental Advisor will ensure that all environmental regulations are comprehensively understood and adhered to throughout various stages of operations, including decommissioning and project execution.

The role may require occasional site visits to offshore facilities or onshore terminals.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Serve as the Environmental Advisor for multiple operational platforms, including NUI's and subsea tiebacks.
  • Oversee the management of OPPC, ETS, and Chemical Permits for offshore operations.
  • Provide technical guidance for Terminal Environmental Operations.
  • Develop an Environmental Plan outlining key initiatives and milestones in alignment with ISO14001 standards.
  • Contribute to the maintenance and compliance of ISO14001:2015.
  • Conduct scheduled audits and inspections.
  • Manage the regulatory relationship with OPRED/BEIS.
  • Ensure timely submission of all internal and external reports, including EEMS, OSPAR, OPPC, and SECR.
  • Advise the team on compliance with environmental policies and legislation.
  • Monitor and review changes in environmental legislation and assess their potential impact on the business.
  • Conduct site visits and audits as necessary.
  • Maintain OPEP documentation.
  • Participate as a member of the Incident Management Team (IMT).
  • Provide oversight of the environmental component of the HSE budget.

Qualifications and Skills:

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • Extensive experience in the environmental sector, particularly within the offshore upstream Oil & Gas industry, at an advisory level.
  • A comprehensive understanding of offshore production, subsea operations, drilling, and well intervention.
  • Strong knowledge of the UK regulatory environmental framework.
  • Expertise in emissions management and trading schemes relevant to offshore operations.
  • Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • A degree in Environmental Management, Engineering, or a related field.
  • ISO14001 auditor certification.
  • Familiarity with SCR2015, PORTAL, EEMS, and ETSWAP (or UK equivalents).
  • Knowledge of SECR regulations.
  • BOSIET/FOET certification.
