About the Role

Pertemps is seeking a skilled Factory Operative to join their team in Northampton. As a key member of the production team, you will play a vital role in ensuring the efficient production of goods within the factory, maintaining high standards of quality and safety at all times.

Main Responsibilities
  • Operate Machinery and Equipment: Safely operate machinery and equipment as required for the production process, adhering to company guidelines and protocols.
  • Assembly and Quality Control: Assemble products or components according to specifications and work instructions, conducting quality checks to ensure finished products meet company standards.
  • Process Monitoring and Reporting: Monitor the production process, identifying and reporting any issues or defects to the supervisor in a timely manner.
  • Quality Assurance: Conduct regular quality checks on finished products, implementing corrective actions as necessary to maintain high-quality standards.
  • Teamwork and Adaptability: Work collaboratively with the team to achieve daily and weekly targets, demonstrating flexibility and adaptability in response to changing production needs.
  • Maintenance and Housekeeping: Ensure departmental machinery and equipment are in good working order, reporting any issues to the Team Leader and/or Supervisor.
Requirements
  • Previous Experience: Previous experience using a sewing machine is advantageous, but not essential.
  • Dexterity and Attention to Detail: Dexterous and able to maintain exceptional attention to detail in a fast-paced production environment.
  • Communication and Teamwork: Excellent spoken and written communication skills, with the ability to train others once fully trained.
  • Self-Motivation and Initiative: Self-motivated and able to work independently, with a responsible and conscientious attitude.
  • Calmness under Pressure: Able to remain calm and composed under pressure, with a strong focus on delivering high-quality results.
