Atlantis Medical Ltd is seeking committed and skilled Midwives to join a dynamic Maternity team within one of the largest healthcare Trusts in North London.

Position Overview:

The successful candidate will be accountable for delivering independent, evidence-based, and patient-centered midwifery care while collaborating effectively with a multidisciplinary team, external agencies, and service users. Additionally, the candidate will provide support to fellow midwives, which may involve leadership responsibilities in the absence of a Band 7 Midwife.

Key Responsibilities:

Clinical Duties:

  • Deliver personalized, family-oriented midwifery care, empowering families through informed decision-making.
  • Conduct and document risk assessments, adhere to established guidelines, and work alongside the multidisciplinary team.
  • Ensure compliance of clinical records and engage in ongoing professional development and mandatory training.

Administrative Responsibilities:

  • Oversee and report on equipment status, manage departmental supplies, and ensure appropriate usage and storage.
  • Safeguard medications in accordance with Trust policies and assist in the collection of statistics and data relevant to midwifery practice.
  • Alert management to any anticipated stock shortages.

Personnel Management:

  • Organize workload and team dynamics in the absence of a Band 7 Midwife, participate in staff orientation and performance evaluations.
  • Guide and supervise midwives, providing support to team members.
  • Facilitate the learning of students, assess their performance, and assist in achieving educational goals.

Qualifications:

  • Current NMC registration as a Midwife.
  • Demonstrated experience in midwifery practice.
  • Strong theoretical knowledge of midwifery.
  • Experience across various clinical settings.
  • Ability to foster the development of students, midwives, and personal growth.
  • Excellent communication skills, capable of engaging with patients and colleagues at all levels and from diverse professional backgrounds. Adaptability in communication style is essential for effective collaboration.
