Position Overview: Team Leader - Safeguarding

This role presents an exciting opportunity for a Team Leader within the Safeguarding division. The ideal candidate will possess extensive management experience and a solid background in handling complex legal cases. Responsibilities will include overseeing the development and management of intricate cases while providing essential support to the team.

Operational Details:

  • Location: Various areas within the service
  • Appointment Type: Fixed Term
  • Business Area: Children's Social Care
  • Employment Type: Full-time
  • Salary Range: Competitive based on experience
  • Working Hours: 36 hours per week

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver operational management and leadership across designated service areas, supporting the Head of Safeguarding as needed.
  • Supervise Senior Practitioners and Social Workers.
  • Provide guidance and support within the Safeguarding Service.

Candidate Profile:

To excel as a Team Leader, candidates should be dedicated to positively impacting the lives of children and young people. Essential qualifications include:

  • Proven social work experience, particularly in safeguarding cases, including courtroom preparation and testimony.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage caseworkers involved in social work with children and families facing safeguarding challenges.
  • Experience in permanency planning and supporting practitioners in comprehensive care planning for children.
  • Strong leadership skills in managing team performance and professional development.
  • In-depth understanding of risk management and safeguarding principles within social care, including relevant legislation and policies.
