We are seeking two individuals to join our growing Economics and Statistical Forecasting team at Royal Mail Group. This is an opportunity to contribute to our innovative approach in adapting to the evolving parcel delivery market while ensuring environmental responsibility.

Role Overview:
As a Business Forecasting Specialist, you will report to the Head of Statistical Forecasting and play a pivotal role in leveraging data and analytics to enhance business forecasting and data science methodologies. Your contributions will facilitate data-driven decision-making, delivering value to our customers, employees, and stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:
• Deliver short- and medium-term operational forecasts aligned with the team's forecast calendar.
• Maintain and enhance the forecasting model suite, ensuring accuracy and quality of forecasts.
• Conduct statistical analyses of historical data to inform forecasts for various scenarios.
• Monitor forecast accuracy and identify key drivers of variance.
• Collaborate with key stakeholders to foster trust and promote the adoption of forecasts.
• Develop tools for forecast access, visualization, and analysis to meet business needs.
• Implement improvements to forecasting models and techniques to enhance accuracy.

Candidate Profile:
To excel in this role, you should possess the following qualifications and skills:
• Proven experience in modeling or forecasting complex operations.
• Strong analytical, numerical, and statistical skills.
• Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, SQL, GCP, or R.
• Ability to communicate complex statistical concepts to non-experts effectively.
• Attention to detail with a capability to derive high-level, data-driven insights.
• A degree (BSc or MSc) in a quantitative discipline with significant exposure to statistical modeling and data science.
