In this dynamic role, you will collaborate with emergency services, recovery teams, and traffic personnel to manage and respond to a variety of situations on the road. Your professionalism and motivation will be key in delivering a friendly and effective service to those in need.
Our Regional Operations Centre operates around the clock, requiring operators to work on a shift basis, ensuring that assistance is always available. The starting salary for this position is competitive, with opportunities for increases after a probationary period.
Key Responsibilities:
- Responding to emergency roadside calls and coordinating assistance
- Mobilizing on-road teams, including Traffic Officers and maintenance contractors
- Communicating effectively via radio with emergency services and traffic personnel
- Instructing contractors to address urgent repairs and incidents
- Maintaining clear communication with other emergency services and utility providers
- Overseeing incidents from initiation to resolution
- Documenting incidents accurately and maintaining logs
- Performing administrative tasks to support the operations of the Centre
Qualifications and Skills:
We seek individuals who are positive, compassionate, and possess strong IT and communication skills. If you prioritize safety, take ownership of your responsibilities, and work well in a team, you will thrive in our organization.
Essential qualifications include:
- GCSE Maths and English (Grade C/4 or above) or equivalent experience
- Exceptional communication skills and a professional telephone manner
- Strong administrative capabilities
- Ability to remain calm under pressure
- Typing proficiency of at least 32 words per minute
- Willingness to work shifts as part of a 24/7 operation
