Battery Pack Design Placement Opportunity

We are seeking a highly motivated Placement Student to join our team in the Battery Electric Industry. As a Placement Student, you will have the opportunity to work alongside experienced engineers and gain hands-on experience in the design and development of battery packs.

Responsibilities:

  • Participate in the product development team, working alongside mechanical, electrical, and thermal engineers.
  • Develop an understanding of fundamental structural design, product development cycles, and designing in context.
  • Design components using CAD systems, focusing on low-cost, design for manufacture, and assembly.
  • Document design principles and coordinate basic analysis on designs, including vibration, crash, thermal loading, and mechanical shock.
  • Gain insight into the product design and development process in the battery electric industry.
  • First-hand experience of concept through to detail design and proactively identifying potential failure modes via engineering toolsets.

Requirements:

  • Studying for a technical degree in Mechanical, Automotive, Design, or Thermal Design, or Electrical Engineering.
  • Keen interest in electrification and Li-ion batteries.
  • Excellent IT skills, particularly in Microsoft Office, presentation, CAD systems, and report writing.
  • Willingness to challenge the norm and constantly look for improvements.
