Position Overview: In the role of Senior Financial Advisor, you will collaborate closely with the Director of Finance, delivering exceptional financial consultancy services to our clients.

Your primary responsibility will be to offer top-tier financial advisory services, ensuring that our clients receive the best possible support.

Team Leadership: Over time, you will take on the responsibility of supervising a team of Financial Advisors and junior finance personnel, leading by example and fostering a culture of continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Guide and mentor the team to enhance efficiency and elevate the quality of services provided to clients.
  • Act as a Subject Matter Expert (SME), offering specialized technical knowledge and insights to the business.
  • Provide hands-on support and guidance to stakeholders on a diverse range of financial matters.
  • Assist in the formulation of multi-year financial strategies, cash-flow management, and asset recording.
  • Support clients in the timely preparation, forecasting, and monitoring of budgets.
  • Ensure the prompt and accurate closure of each client's financial year, maintaining precise records to support final accounts.
  • Generate financial reports and present findings to Boards and Governing Bodies.
  • Assist clients in establishing effective financial systems in line with agreed policies and timelines.
  • Ensure the maintenance of accurate financial records.
  • Support clients in executing financial transactions appropriately while adhering to financial regulations, including VAT arrangements.
  • Facilitate the procurement of services and conduct financial evaluations to ensure value for money.
  • Provide stakeholders and staff with effective advice and support on all practical aspects of financial management.

Candidate Profile:

  • Part Qualified or Fully Qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIPFA, CIMA).
  • Experience in a similar financial role, or this could be the opportunity to advance your career.
  • Candidates from a Practice or Local Authority background with an understanding of Education funding are also welcome.
  • A proven leader capable of building and nurturing a successful finance team while supporting the Director of Finance as a second-in-command.
  • Confidence in presenting financial data to non-financial audiences.
  • Experience in developing complex budgets and year-end financial statements.
  • Ability to thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced, and collaborative environment.
  • Proficiency in Excel, Outlook, and Word.
