Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Chef to join our team at Hastings Court. As a Chef, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality food and exceptional service to our residents.

Key Responsibilities

  • Food Preparation and Service
    • Prepare and cook a variety of dishes to meet the nutritional needs of our residents.
    • Ensure that all food is of high quality, palatable, and presented in an appealing manner.
  • Menu Planning and Management
    • Work closely with the Head Chef to plan and manage menus that meet the dietary needs of our residents.
    • Ensure that all menu items are prepared and served in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Stock Control and Management
    • Manage stock levels and ensure that all ingredients are ordered and received in a timely manner.
    • Monitor and control food costs to ensure that they are within budget.
  • Team Leadership and Development
    • Lead and motivate a team of kitchen staff to deliver high-quality food and service.
    • Provide training and development opportunities to help staff improve their skills and knowledge.

Requirements

  • Experience and Qualifications
    • At least 2 years of experience in a similar role.
    • Knowledge of therapeutic diets and textured diets is advantageous.
  • Skills and Abilities
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
    • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines.
    • Knowledge of food safety and hygiene practices.
