Our award-winning menu offers a sophisticated dining experience, drawing on the individual styles of our kitchen team. We are a friendly pub with rooms in the heart of the village, famous for fine food, unique atmosphere & lengthy wine list. Our 12 rooms are frequented by visitors to nearby tourist attractions, such as the Bluebell Railway, Glyndebourne Opera House, and the Ashdown Forest. We are positioned in the heart of a great golfing area. As a Sous Chef, you will have access to our Sous Chef - Head Chef development Programme, autonomy to create your own menus and specials, and access to our Apprenticeship Scheme. You will also have the opportunity to participate in regular culinary masterclasses and training days to boost your skills. We are looking for an existing Sous Chef or Senior CDP looking for their next step, who considers themselves a natural leader with a passion and flare for producing quality fresh food in an environment that makes people feel welcome. The successful Sous Chef will have experience championing excellent service through quality food, demonstrate a passion for leading and developing a team, and be an active hands-on Chef with excellent communication skills. They will also be responsible for managing the kitchen staff rota, training and all health and safety effectively at all times. Working alongside your Head Chef, you will be able to demonstrate your creativity and ability by helping to design and deliver new dishes for our menus and daily specials. You will also have a pro-active approach to driving sales and delivering growth, through engagement with both kitchen and front of house teams.
