Role Purpose:
The primary function of this role is to assist the Insurance Manager in guaranteeing that the Company possesses suitable insurance coverage for its insurable assets and liabilities, adhering to best practices in the oilfield sector and complying with relevant regulations and laws.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in the formulation and oversight of the company’s insurance programs, ensuring comprehensive coverage for operational, property, liability, and various other risks.
- Perform thorough risk evaluations to ascertain insurance requirements and propose suitable coverage alternatives.
- Support the development of relationships with insurance brokers and underwriters to negotiate optimal terms and conditions for insurance policies.
- Facilitate the efficient management of insurance claims, coordinating with both internal and external stakeholders as necessary.
- Ensure that insurance policies and practices are in line with applicable regulations and industry standards, maintaining current knowledge of legal obligations.
- Regularly assess insurance policies and market dynamics to uncover opportunities for cost efficiencies or improved coverage.
- Collaborate closely with finance and legal teams to align insurance strategies with corporate financial and risk management goals.
Essential Qualifications:
- A bachelor’s degree in risk management, finance, business administration, or a related discipline.
- FCII qualification or progress towards it is preferred.
- Experience in the offshore energy insurance sector or a related field characterized by substantial operational and financial risks is preferred.
- In-depth understanding of liability, indemnity, and insurance frameworks in energy contracting is preferred.
- Exceptional negotiation abilities, demonstrated by a history of securing advantageous insurance coverage and terms.
