About the Role

We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Phlebotomist to join our team at Wirral University Teaching Hospital NHS Foundation Trust. As a Phlebotomist, you will play a vital role in the healthcare team, responsible for collecting blood samples from patients for laboratory testing.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collect blood samples from patients using aseptic techniques and equipment.
  • Record patient information and sample details accurately and efficiently.
  • Work collaboratively with healthcare professionals to ensure smooth patient care.
  • Maintain a clean and safe working environment, adhering to infection control policies.
  • Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare teams to ensure patient-centered care.

Requirements

  • Good standard of education, including GCSE English Language.
  • Excellent understanding of patient needs and healthcare practices.
  • Basic computer skills to input and retrieve electronic information.
  • Ability to work in a team, prioritize tasks, and manage workload effectively.
  • Good physical health to meet the demands of the role, including standing, bending, and pushing trolleys.
