About the Role

We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Phlebotomy Specialist to join our team at Wirral University Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust. As a key member of our Phlebotomy Team, you will be responsible for collecting blood samples from patients in a safe and efficient manner.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collect blood samples from patients in a variety of settings, including hospitals and community clinics.
  • Use your knowledge of anatomy and physiology to identify suitable sites for blood collection.
  • Operate phlebotomy equipment and maintain a clean and safe working environment.
  • Communicate effectively with patients and healthcare professionals to ensure accurate and efficient blood collection.
  • Work collaboratively with other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless patient care.
Requirements
  • Good standard of education, including GCSE English Language.
  • Excellent understanding of patient needs and requirements.
  • Basic computer skills to input and retrieve electronic information.
  • Knowledge of anatomy and physiology, including the circulatory and respiratory systems.
  • First Aid and CPR certification.
  • Ability to work in a team environment and prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Flexibility to work a variety of shifts, including evenings and weekends.
