Job Title:

Principal Electrical Power Systems Engineer

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Develop and define Electrical Power Systems equipment requirements
  2. Author and review technical documentation, including design specifications and user manuals
  3. Manage technical risks, assumptions, and dependencies to ensure project success
  4. Provide expert advice on electrical power technical aspects across various engineering disciplines
  5. Collaborate with customers and suppliers to resolve complex technical issues
  6. Lead and mentor junior team members in the systems definition process
  7. Travel to various locations throughout the UK to support project delivery
Requirements:

Essential

  1. Degree qualified Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience
  2. Engineering Chartership required or significant progress towards Chartership
  3. Significant knowledge of AC and DC electrical power systems
  4. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

Electrical Power Systems Definition Team:

As a member of the Electrical Power Systems Definition team, you will contribute to the development of the UK's next-generation SSN design, incorporating technology from the UK, Australia, and the United States. Your expertise will be essential in defining the needs of equipment and system elements required to feed into the submarine design and build process.
