Job Title:

Principal Electrical Power Engineer

Location:

Our team is based in various locations throughout the UK, including BAE Systems sites, customer locations, and supplier sites.

Salary:

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Develop and define Electrical Power Systems equipment requirements
  2. Author and review technical documentation, including design specifications and user manuals
  3. Manage technical risks, assumptions, and dependencies associated with Electrical Power Systems
  4. Provide expert advice on electrical power technical aspects to cross-functional teams
  5. Collaborate with customers and suppliers to resolve complex technical issues
  6. Lead and mentor junior team members in the systems definition process
Requirements:

Essential

  1. Degree qualified Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience
  2. Engineering Chartership required (or significant progress towards Chartership can be demonstrated)
  3. Significant knowledge of AC and DC electrical power systems
  4. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

This is an exciting opportunity to join our Electrical Power Systems Definition team, working on the UK's next-generation SSN design. You will be responsible for defining the needs of equipment and system elements required to feed into the submarine design and build process.
