As a Tax Compliance Specialist at McLaren Automotive, you will play a critical role in ensuring a robust tax environment for the Automotive business. This role offers exposure to the whole business from a tax perspective, requiring a strong analytical competence and a drive for personal and professional development.

Key Tasks

  • Monitor and clear shipments in Customs Duty Mailbox, sending clearance instructions to agents to prevent production delays.
  • Prepare agents clearing requests for MAL FD signature, including commodity codes and statements of terms.
  • Manage and store Customs documentation to support future HMRC audits.
  • Perform monthly regulatory audits from HMRC to ensure our licence to import/export goods can be renewed.
  • Work with MSO to create support and invoices for customer cars being imported for service, managing data in spreadsheets to avoid statutory timelines and penalties.
  • Maintain Master Spreadsheets for MSO assets and support Tax Manager in making quarterly declarations to HMRC.
  • Download financial data from SAP and analyze in line with my/Tax Manager requests to support monthly VAT and financial reporting.
  • Assist with reviewing the impact of new system transitions.

Requirements

  • Interest in working in accounting and tax, with experience in accounting or a business-related field a plus.
  • Ability to analyze and work with large amounts of data and related compliance/regulations.
  • Attention to detail to handle tax audits and reconciliations.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Tools, especially Excel.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills to explain tax processes and make recommendations.
