SEN Teaching Assistant Opportunity

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant to join our team at a lovely SEN Secondary School in the Portsmouth area.

The ideal candidate will have experience working with children with Special Educational Needs, be proactive and resilient, and have excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

The role involves supporting the class teacher, working on a 1:1 basis with pupils, and participating in outdoor day trips and activity days.

The school caters for pupils with Special Educational Needs and has a focus on providing a nurturing environment that enables pupils to engage successfully in all aspects of learning.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supporting the class teacher with lesson planning and delivery
  • Working on a 1:1 basis with pupils to support their learning and development
  • Participating in outdoor day trips and activity days to enhance pupil engagement
  • Embracing the school's visions and core values

Requirements:

  • Right to work in the UK
  • Up-to-date CV with two relevant references from within the last 2 years
  • DBS registered to the update service or willingness to apply for one with GSL Education
