At Omega Resource Group, we are seeking a skilled and motivated Shift Engineer to join our team at a leading manufacturing site in Wolverhampton. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining and optimizing the site's operations, ensuring the highest level of productivity and efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support all engineering breakdowns, diagnose faults, and replace machine parts in a timely manner.
  • Rectify hydraulic, electrical, pneumatic, and mechanical issues to minimize downtime.
  • Enhance, repair, and maintain all plant, equipment, and services within the manufacturing facility according to the preventative maintenance schedule.
  • Assist with the installation and commissioning of new machinery and equipment with the support of specialist Tool Room Engineers.
  • Participate in improvement projects during planned downtime and identify engineering solutions to maximize efficiency.
  • Maintain relationships with plant and services contractors/suppliers and arrange for necessary engineering works.
  • Organize and maintain the technical database.
  • Order spares/consumables required for engineering activities.
  • Collaborate with Production, Tool Change, and Tool Room teams to achieve engineering outcomes.
  • Operate within key Engineering and Health & Safety codes.
  • Perform other tasks as requested by Management.
  • Targets: Number of T Cards closed to target, scrap below set target, minimal machine downtime, planned maintenance, and project work completed in cost and on time.

Experience/Qualifications:

  • 17th Edition Wiring Regulations.
  • Level 3 NVQ or Equivalent in Electrical/Mechanical or Multi-Skilled Engineering.
  • GCSE Grade C and above or equivalent Maths and English.
  • Proven working knowledge of plant maintenance and repairs, including hydraulic, pneumatic, electrical, electronic, and mechanical systems.
  • Able to read and understand electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic drawings.
  • Able to work under pressure in a fast-growing business and meet tight deadlines.
  • Understanding of health and safety processes and safe methods of working.
