Job Title: Shift Engineer

Location: Wolverhampton

Salary: £50,000 - £55,000

Shift Pattern: Continental Shift (4 on 4 off)

Omega Resource Group is seeking a skilled and motivated Shift Engineer to maintain and optimize the operations of a leading manufacturing site in Wolverhampton. The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting all engineering breakdowns, diagnosing faults, and replacing machine parts.


Key Responsibilities

  • Rectify hydraulic, electrical, pneumatic, and mechanical issues
  • Enhance, repair, and maintain all plant, equipment, and services within the manufacturing facility
  • Assist with the installation and commissioning of new machinery and equipment
  • Participate in improvement projects during planned downtime and identify engineering solutions to maximize efficiency
  • Maintain relationships with plant and services contractors/suppliers
  • Organize and maintain the technical database
  • Order spares and consumables required for engineering activities
  • Work closely with production, tool change, and tool room teams
  • Operate within key engineering and health & safety codes
  • Perform other tasks as requested by management
  • Meet targets for T Cards closed, scrap, machine downtime, planned maintenance, and project work


Experience/Qualifications

  • 17th Edition Wiring Regulations
  • Level 3 NVQ or equivalent in Electrical/Mechanical or Multi-Skilled Engineering
  • GCSE Grade C and above or equivalent Maths and English
  • Proven working knowledge of plant maintenance and repairs
  • Able to read and understand electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic drawings
  • Able to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines
  • Understanding of health and safety processes and safe methods of working
