Job Opportunity

Glasgow City Council is seeking a dedicated Child Development Officer to join our team at Hazelwood School, a school for pupils with complex learning needs.

The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting the delivery of high-quality early learning and childcare, promoting the development of independence, competence, and confidence in our youngest learners.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan, prepare, and deliver stimulating learning experiences in line with Curriculum for Excellence and national practice guidance.
  • Provide support and care to our youngest learners, promoting their social, emotional, and cognitive development.
  • Engage effectively with families and education, health, and social care professionals, as required.
  • Meet the minimum requirements for registration as a practitioner in the day care of children's services with the Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC).

Requirements:

  • Relevant qualification such as the HNC Childhood Practice at SCQF Level 7, SVQ Social Services Children and Young People at SCQF Level 7, National Nursery Examination Board certificate (NNEB), or equivalent.
  • Membership of the Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC) and the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scheme.
