Job Title: Childcare Development Officer

Glasgow City Council is seeking a dedicated and experienced Childcare Development Officer to join our team at Hazelwood School, a school for pupils with complex learning needs.

The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting the delivery of high-quality early learning and childcare, working closely with the school's staff to plan and deliver stimulating learning experiences that meet the needs of our youngest learners.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the development of independence, competence, and confidence in our youngest learners
  • Plan and deliver learning experiences that meet the needs of our pupils, in line with Curriculum for Excellence and national practice guidance
  • Work collaboratively with the school's staff to ensure a high-quality learning environment
  • Provide support and care to our pupils, promoting their physical, emotional, and social development

Requirements:

  • Relevant qualification, such as HNC Childhood Practice at SCQF Level 7 or equivalent, as required by the Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC) for registration as a practitioner in the day care of children's services
  • Experience working with children with complex learning needs
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team
