About the Role

We are seeking a highly experienced and skilled professional to join our team as the Head of Partnerships and Strategic Development. As a key member of our organization, you will be responsible for leading our charity partnerships and grant programs, supporting the Partnerships and Engagement Managers, and directly handling key partnerships.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the day-to-day management of charity partnerships, ensuring effective relationships and successful outcomes.
  • Lead the delivery of funding programs and develop future initiatives, aligning with our organization's strategic goals.
  • Line manage the Partnerships and Engagement Managers, providing guidance and support to ensure team success.
  • Identify and cultivate new partnerships, proposing applications to the Board for approval.
  • Engage in exploratory conversations with potential partners, building relationships and opportunities.
  • Lead partnership renewals, preparing proposals for Board approval and ensuring seamless transitions.
  • Enhance systems, processes, and administration within the partnerships team, ensuring efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Attend Trustees meetings, reporting on key partnerships and providing strategic insights.
  • Support strategic and business planning for future developments, contributing to the organization's growth and success.
  • Represent the organization at public events, promoting our mission and values.
  • Manage a portfolio of key charity partnerships, ensuring successful outcomes and relationships.

Requirements:

  • Experience working at a senior level within a grant-making organization or the wider voluntary sector.
  • Line management or leadership experience, with a proven track record of success.
  • Able to work across a large portfolio of charity partnerships, managing multiple deadlines and priorities.
  • Creative and resourceful, with the ability to show initiative, solve problems, and identify areas for improvement.
  • Builds strong working relationships, both internally and externally, with a focus on collaboration and communication.
  • Strong project management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Strong strategic thinking skills, with the ability to develop and implement effective strategies.
  • Excellent organization and time management skills, with the ability to work to deadlines and prioritize tasks.
  • Good IT skills, particularly using Microsoft Office, with the ability to learn new systems and technologies.
  • Good numeracy skills, with the ability to analyze data and make informed decisions.
  • Excellent attention to detail, with the ability to ensure accuracy and quality in all aspects of work.
  • Able to work effectively within a small team, with a focus on collaboration and communication.
