About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Senior Faculty Technician to join our team in the School of Design, Art and Creative Industries. As a key member of our technical support team, you will provide specialist pattern cutting technical support to students and staff across our Fashion programmes.

The successful candidate will have a strong background in digital pattern cutting, with expertise in the use of Optitex pattern cutting software and related equipment. You will also have a good understanding of traditional pattern cutting techniques and be able to integrate these with digital skills to provide a comprehensive service to our students.

As a Senior Faculty Technician, you will be responsible for providing technical support to students, staff, and external partners, as well as contributing to the development of our technical resources and services. You will work closely with our Technical Manager and other members of the technical team to ensure the smooth delivery of our technical services.

We are looking for someone who is enthusiastic, productive, and self-motivated, with excellent communication and interpersonal skills. You will be able to work effectively in a team environment and have a strong commitment to providing excellent customer service.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide specialist pattern cutting technical support to students and staff across our Fashion programmes
  • Develop and maintain technical resources and services to support our students and staff
  • Work closely with our Technical Manager and other members of the technical team to ensure the smooth delivery of our technical services
  • Contribute to the development of our technical resources and services
  • Provide excellent customer service to our students, staff, and external partners

Requirements:

  • Strong background in digital pattern cutting, with expertise in the use of Optitex pattern cutting software and related equipment
  • Good understanding of traditional pattern cutting techniques
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment
  • Strong commitment to providing excellent customer service
