Objective of the Gardening Apprentice
To acquire skills in maintaining the hotel gardens, kitchen garden, nursery, grounds, and golf course to the highest standards while collaborating with a team of gardening professionals.

Candidate Profile for the Gardening Apprentice

  • A strong passion for gardening and the outdoors
  • Relevant experience in the field is advantageous
  • Commitment to a 2-year apprenticeship program
  • Attention to detail, organizational skills, and effective communication with the team

Key Responsibilities of the Gardening Apprentice

  • Attend college on designated days to fulfill apprenticeship requirements and apply theoretical knowledge in practice
  • Maintain cleanliness by removing weeds and leaf debris, ensuring all areas are regularly tended to
  • Assume responsibility for tasks as directed by the Estate Manager and senior gardening staff
  • Engage positively with guests about the grounds and gardens when needed
  • Support the team in producing high-quality fruits, vegetables, and foraged items for the hotel
