Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Lead Applications Chemist to join our team in the West Midlands. The successful candidate will lead the research and development of stabilisation solutions for polyurethanes, with a focus on slabstock foams. This role will involve developing new and existing packages to meet customer needs, obtaining and reviewing experimental data, and presenting application data to internal and external clients.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the research and development of stabilisation solutions for polyurethanes, with a focus on slabstock foams.
  • Develop new and existing packages to meet customer needs.
  • Obtain and review experimental data of the application testing of products.
  • Develop and present application data to both internal and external clients and customers.
  • Keep up to date with new and existing markets of polyurethane and TPU.

Requirements:

  • PhD in synthetic organic or polymer chemistry (or similar).
  • Minimum BSc/MSc in Chemistry.
  • Proven industrial experience of working with polyurethane, flexible slabstock, and/or TPU.
  • Good organisation skills and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Able and willing to work independently.
