Key Responsibilities

We seek a part-time Band 6 physiotherapist who is committed to delivering outstanding patient care and rehabilitation services, particularly in stroke and general rehabilitation.

Ideal candidates will demonstrate strong communication skills and a flexible problem-solving approach. Professionalism, effective time management, and people management skills are essential.

You will collaborate closely with therapy team leaders and other skilled professionals to ensure the highest standards of care. Responsibilities include mentoring junior staff and students under senior guidance. You will have the chance to influence service delivery through evaluations and audits, and we encourage ongoing professional development, including postgraduate education in your specialty.

Job Duties

  • Conduct specialized assessments, both independently and collaboratively.
  • Design and implement tailored treatment plans for clients, addressing a range of conditions including stroke and various comorbidities.
  • Engage in the assessment process, performing both general and complex evaluations as necessary, including the requisition of appropriate rehabilitation equipment.
  • Effectively communicate relevant medical information and recommendations across various agencies, ensuring compliance with guidelines for information sharing and consent.

Qualifications and Experience

Essential Qualifications:

  • Degree or diploma in Physiotherapy.
  • Membership in a recognized professional body.
  • Current registration with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC).
  • Evidence of a current Continuing Professional Development (CPD) portfolio.
  • Participation in specialist training relevant to Adult Rehabilitation, Neurology, Orthopaedics, Musculoskeletal Outpatients, and Geriatric Rehabilitation.

Desirable Qualifications:

  • Membership in a relevant Special Interest Group.

Essential Experience:

  • Post-registration experience as a Band 5 physiotherapist.
  • Experience in diverse clinical settings, including outpatient care, neurology, rehabilitation, orthopaedics, and respiratory therapy.
  • Experience in neuro/stroke rehabilitation.
  • Experience working within the National Health Service (NHS).

Desirable Experience:

  • Experience collaborating with voluntary organizations.
  • Involvement in service development initiatives.
  • Experience in falls prevention strategies.
  • Prior experience as a Band 6 physiotherapist.
