About the Role

We are seeking a part-time Mortuary Assistant to join our team at Inverclyde Royal Hospital, Greenock. As a Mortuary Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting the mortuary team in the receipt, removal, and transfer of deceased individuals, as well as preparing the deceased for viewing and conducting viewings with relatives.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Dealing with the receipt, removal, and transfer of deceased individuals
  • Preparing the deceased for viewing and conducting viewings with relatives
  • Organising and completing paperwork for the release of deceased individuals to funeral directors
  • Lone working in the mortuary environment

Requirements:

  • Qualification to higher grade level (3 Highers at Grade C) or above, or equivalent qualification
  • Good literacy and numeracy skills
  • Good time management and organisational skills
  • Excellent interpersonal, teamwork, and communication skills
  • Demonstrable knowledge of confidentiality and Data Protection policies

Working Hours:

The successful candidate will work 18.5 hours per week, Monday, Wednesday, and Friday, from 9:30am to 3:30pm.
