About the Role

We are seeking a part-time Mortuary Assistant to join our team at Inverclyde Royal Hospital, Greenock. As a Mortuary Assistant, you will be responsible for dealing with the receipt, removal, and transfer of deceased individuals, preparing them for viewing, and organizing and conducting viewings with relatives.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deal with the receipt, removal, and transfer of deceased individuals
  • Prepare deceased individuals for viewing
  • Organize and conduct viewings with relatives
  • Complete all necessary paperwork for the release of deceased individuals to funeral directors
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need to possess good literacy and numeracy skills, good time management and organizational skills, excellent interpersonal, teamwork, and communication skills, and demonstrable knowledge of confidentiality and data protection policies.

You should also have experience of working with the public, preferably in a hospital environment, and ideally have experience of working with deceased individuals.
