Position Overview: Reporting to the Deputy Chief Information Security Officer, the Senior Cyber Security Specialist will oversee the development and implementation of IT Governance, Risk Management, Security Awareness, and Business Continuity/Disaster Recovery initiatives within the organization. This role requires maintaining necessary certifications for operations and engaging directly with various business representatives.

Work Arrangement: This is a hybrid position; however, candidates must be local to the designated site to fulfill in-office requirements three days a week.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Establish and uphold a comprehensive management framework for all IT Governance functions.
  • Ensure compliance with certifications mandated by regulatory authorities.
  • Develop processes for identifying, evaluating, and reporting risks across operational areas.
  • Support the execution of IT risk assessments in alignment with established company policies.
  • Align IT operations with legal, compliance, and regulatory requirements.
  • Design and maintain the Business Continuity Plan for IT services.
  • Formulate and oversee the Disaster Recovery Plan for IT services.
  • Recruit, train, and mentor team members as necessary.
  • Create risk decision-making frameworks that align with business objectives.
  • Generate on-demand reporting and dashboards for self-service access.
  • Act as the primary liaison for IT audit and assessment activities.
  • Develop compliance metrics and reporting based on industry standards.
  • Implement a Security Awareness Program to mitigate information security risks.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in IT or a related technical field; a Master's degree is preferred.
  • Over 7 years of experience in information security, governance, risk management, or related fields.
  • Professional certifications such as CISA, CISM, or CISSP are highly desirable.

Skills and Competencies:

  • Familiarity with security frameworks such as Cyber Essentials and ISO 27000.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey complex security concepts to diverse audiences.
  • In-depth understanding of cyber-security threats and remediation strategies.
  • Awareness of current trends in information security and risk management.
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure while maintaining professionalism.
  • Proven capability to influence stakeholders and foster collaboration.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, adept at managing multiple high-visibility issues.
