About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Cyber Security Engineer to join our team at BAE Systems. As a key member of our Cyber Engineering team, you will play a critical role in supporting the development and implementation of security solutions to provide enterprise security services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and implement rule creation in Data Loss Prevention (DLP) systems to ensure the security and integrity of our data.
  • Troubleshoot Linux systems to identify and resolve technical issues, ensuring minimal downtime and maximum efficiency.
  • Detect and diagnose network issues within a large network environment, escalating to third-party providers as necessary.
  • Manage and support Atlassian Stack technologies, including Jira, Confluence, and BitBucket, to ensure seamless collaboration and communication.
  • Support firewall rule reviews to ensure compliance with security protocols and standards.
  • Work on large-scale projects to onboard new and existing networks into Cyber Toolsets, ensuring timely and effective implementation.
  • Collaborate with technical engineering colleagues to provide efficient cyber services, leveraging expertise and knowledge to drive innovation and improvement.
  • Manage systems for data collection, indexing, and analysis, optimizing searches, reports, and dashboards for actionable insights.
  • Automate tasks using scripts to increase efficiency and reduce manual errors.
Requirements
  • Proficiency in Linux, including configuration, management, and troubleshooting.
  • DLP rules and analytical skills, with experience in DLP technologies such as Symantec and/or Trellix.
  • Understanding of network architectures and protocols, with ability to diagnose and escalate network issues effectively.
  • Experience with Atlassian Stack technologies, including Jira, Confluence, and BitBucket.
  • Experience with Firewall technologies, including configuration and management.
  • Demonstrated experience in troubleshooting and resolving technical issues, with proficiency in scripting languages such as PowerShell and RegEx.
Desirable Skills
  • Experience with Git version control system.
  • Ability to work within change control processes.
