A prominent provider of financial solutions is in search of a Cloud Infrastructure Engineer with a robust background in developing and implementing containerized platforms.

Role Responsibilities:

The Cloud Infrastructure Engineer will take charge of various engineering initiatives, including enhancing our capabilities, adopting public cloud infrastructures and solutions, and integrating our applications with diverse cloud services to boost platform scalability. The primary goal of this position is to spearhead efforts in the integration of infrastructure, such as code pipelines and native cloud services, with a distinct emphasis on delivering resilient technology solutions to clients.

  • Collaborate with application developers, Tech and Infrastructure colleagues, and third-party public cloud vendors to timely bring relevant public cloud infrastructure and services internally.
  • Work closely with the Cloud Security team to ensure that public cloud services undergo prompt evaluations while maintaining business priorities.
  • Partner with multiple teams to ensure the appropriate integration of functions to achieve our business and technology objectives.
  • Identify and define essential system enhancements to refine current processes and architecture.
  • Provide expertise and advanced knowledge in Cloud Infrastructure Engineering, ensuring our processes align with best practices and the firm’s strategic technology plan.
  • Perform support tasks such as troubleshooting with clients and collaborating with production support to address production stability issues.
  • Conduct in-depth analysis with interpretive thinking to identify issues and develop innovative solutions.

Essential Skills:

  • Demonstrated experience in creating Cloud Infrastructure solutions within enterprise container platforms, including public cloud Kubernetes Services in Amazon Web Services/Google Cloud, or on-premises platforms like RedHat OpenShift.
  • Subject Matter Expert (SME) in microservice architecture and container technologies such as Docker, Podman, and Kubernetes.
  • SME in Kubernetes-related technologies including S3, EFS, Lustre FSx, Kubernetes cluster autoscaler, Karpenter, and KEDA.
  • Extensive knowledge in utilizing tools such as Terraform, Helm, kubectl, and Hashicorp Vault.
  • Strong understanding of managing vulnerabilities and maintaining robust security for applications and services operating in the public cloud.
  • Experience in Investment Banking/High-Performance Compute platforms is advantageous.
  • Familiarity with Java programming and the Spring framework is a plus.
  • Understanding of agile software development methodologies and experience with developer tools such as GitHub, Bitbucket, JIRA, Artifactory, and Jenkins.
  • In-depth experience in analyzing application metrics using observability tools such as Splunk, Elasticsearch, and Grafana is highly desirable.
  • Ability to adapt to rapidly evolving technology and business demands, demonstrating flexibility and agility.
  • Proven leadership and project management capabilities.
  • Consistently exhibits clear and concise written and verbal communication skills.

Educational Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree/University degree or equivalent experience.
  • Master's degree in an engineering or science discipline is preferred.
